Despite Cancellation of 20th Annual Live Event Due to COVID19 Health Concerns, Nine Local Charities Receive Donation

The Governor’s Black-Tie charitable event has always been about enhancing the Las Vegas Valley by assisting the Community’s less fortunate children and women. The golf, concert, and reception portions of the 2020 Event were cancelled under the “Stay Home for Nevada” directives, but the generosity of the community and its sponsors lived on. Today, Olympia Companies SH Charitable Foundation is proud to announce that it made $1,000,000 in donations last week and provided much needed funding to each of its nine benefiting charities.

“Although we had to cancel the event, we knew it was paramount that we support the programs and services that the charities provide,” notes Garry Goett, founder of Olympia Companies SH Charitable Foundation and CEO of Olympia Companies. “We are proud to be able to continue to support these amazing organizations, and we are humbled by the generosity of all of our sponsors, staff, and vendors for their continued support during these uncertain times.”

Since 2001, Olympia Companies SH Charitable Foundation has led the change to improve the quality of life for women and children in Southern Nevada. Supported by the Governor of Nevada since its inception, the Governor’s Black-Tie continues to be the premier fundraising event in the state of Nevada each year. With this year’s fundraising effort, the OCSHCF has now raised more than 21 million dollars for local charities.

The donated funds will continue to assist with the services and support throughout the year to qualifying charities in need, including Boys and Girls Club of Southern Nevada, Operation Warm Heart, Candlelighters, Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, Children’s Heart Foundation, Assistance League of Las Vegas, Opportunity Village, Andson, Discovery Children’s Museum, and The Folded Flag Foundation.
